intensive outpatient program

Release's IOP features a 12-week curriculum with a new focus each week, such as emotional regulation, self-awareness, relapse prevention skills, guilt and shame, interpersonal connectedness and relationships, boundaries, improving self-esteem and self-worth, and overall functionality -- all essential elements that support enduring health and wellness beyond treatment. This always-rotating schedule allows newcomers to join at any point in the process, while being flexible enough to include extension options for those who can benefit from continued substance use and trauma treatment.

The program includes weekly Individual Therapy with a Master’s Level Clinician, three Group Therapy sessions per week, weekly Medication Management, and Family Therapy as needed.

12 week curriculum

  • Medication oversight by our chief medical officer involves the careful evaluation, prescription, and monitoring of medications for our clients. Dr. McCormick assesses the client’s medical history, prescribes appropriate medications, and regularly monitors for their effectiveness and potential side effects. He educates clients about medication usage, provides dosage instructions, and addresses any concerns or questions. Through ongoing oversight, Dr. McCormick ensures safe and effective medication use to optimize client health outcomes.

  • Utilizing an integrative approach tailored to the needs of each client, our clinical team works collaboratively with you to address the recovery issues most important to you. In individual therapy, clients have a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges. We provide a compassionate and holistic approach to help our clients develop self-compassion, enhance their resilience, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

  • Group therapy brings together a small, supportive group of individuals who share similar struggles with substance use and mental health. Led by a masters level therapist, group therapy offers the opportunity for personal growth, self-reflection, and the development of interpersonal skills – as well as provides a sense of community and connection with others facing similar challenges.

  • At Release Recovery, we treat the whole family system. From developing unique family care plans to offering family coaches, family involvement is crucial to our process and for our clients. And importantly, we support families in doing their own work because recovery is not just about helping your loved ones heal; it’s about helping the whole family heal.

  • Both our client and their family are able to engage in our comprehensive aftercare services. We have a substantial alumni support network with events, weekly family support groups, monthly educational groups, as well as options for peer companionship.
